THE HOUSES

Mas Palou is a group of two “masoveries” (each masoveria is a small house where the workers of the family used to work), Cal Joaquim and Cal Lluis, annexed to the main house Cerdà de Palou.

The house Cerdà de Palou is a country estate dating from the eighteenth century. It comprised the ancient Palou stable, as well. The house located two kilometers away from El Pla del Penedès, next to the street that gets to the neighboring town of Torrelavit, was named after the above-mentioned stable.

The Sant Jaume (James) of Palou Chapel (1623) can be found in its enclosure; a nave with stone corners and beautiful belfry and door.

Presses, wine cellars and “masoveries” from the nineteenth century are joined to the country estate or main house, which is located in the very middle of the farm, surrounded by the landscape – a mixture of gardens, vineyards and forests.

The main cultivation of the farm is the vineyard, where the guests will be able to find many varieties, as different as Macabeu, Xarel·lo, Parellada, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet-sauvignon... However, we also grow olives, from which we obtain a magnificent Arbequina virgin olive oil.
